Maplewood Library is Open

Maplewood Library is open to the public, with the safety of patrons and staff being our first priority. The Main Library and Hilton Branch are operating with modified hours and at reduced capacity, following protocols and compliance guidelines mandated by the state.

Both buildings continue to offer Curbside Pickup. When your requested materials are available we’ll check them out to you and you’ll receive notice when they’re ready for pickup. Place holds through our website or by phone.

Hilton Branch
Open Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm with a maximum building capacity of 8.
Curbside pickup: Monday through Thursday , 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm.

Main Library:
Open Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 6 pm, Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, with a maximum building capacity of 10 (including a Children’s Room capacity of 5).
Curbside pickup: Monday through Friday, 12 pm to 6 pm, Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm.

Maplewood Library cardholders have access to:

  • BCCLS requests (resident cardholders only)

  • Books, audiobooks and movies

  • Public computer access: 30 minutes per person per day, no extensions

  • Magazines (at Main Library only, with staff assistance)

  • Reference assistance across all departments

  • Public copiers and fax machines

  • Wireless and public computer printing

  • Notary service by appointment

  • Virtual storytimes and DIY projects on our YouTube channel

  • Interlibrary Loans will be available as of October 26, 2020

Our public safety guidelines are:

  • Proper masks must be worn by everyone age 2 and above

  • Social distancing must be maintained

  • Patrons visits are limited to one 30 minute visit per day

  • Contactless checkout options are available using Self-Checkout kiosks (library card required) or the meeScan app, which enables you to check out  items with your phone from anywhere inside our buildings.

  • Children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult

  • Family or other groups visiting the library are limited to 3 people per group

As always, our digital resources are available 24/7. These include movies & TV shows, eBooks & eAudiobooks, magazines, job search resources and databases for adults and kids.

We look forward to being able to offer the following services at some point in the future, but for now patrons will not have access to:

  • Newspapers

  • Quiet rooms, meeting rooms and social gathering spaces

  • On-site programs
