Ideas Festival 2014: Judith Viorst

Main Library - This Saturday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m., Judith Viorst will receive the First Annual Maplewood Literary Award. She will speak on "Loves and Longings and Wicked Thoughts: The Shared Experiences of Children and Adults."   A reception with refreshments will follow.

Judith Viorst was born and grew up in Maplewood.  She writes in many different areas: science books, children’s picture books, adult fiction and nonfiction, poetry for children and adults, and musicals, which are still performed on stages around the country. She is best known for her beloved picture book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
