Maplewood Memorial Library Construction Project

The Maplewood Memorial Library and the Township of Maplewood are soliciting sealed bids for the MAPLEWOOD MEMORIAL LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. The Project is being bid as a lump sum general construction contract and consists of: Construction of the new Maplewood Memorial Library at 51 Baker Street, Maplewood, N.J. 07040.

Presentation of Conceptual Design to the Community

Sage and Coombe Architects, who have been hired by the Maplewood Library Board of Trustees to design a Library for the Future, presented their conceptual design to the public. The design was developed taking into consideration input from extensive meetings with focus groups, an open community forum and an online survey.

Request for Proposals: Architectural Services for Conceptual Design

The Maplewood Library Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to invite three firms to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a conceptual design for the future of the Main Library at 51 Baker St. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was issued in February. After receiving 39 responses, the library has selected three award-winning firms for their talent, vision and wealth of experience designing libraries and civic buildings.

Architecture Firm Selected after Requests for Proposals

Library Trustees Select Architectural Firm for a 21st Century Library. Moving forward with its vision of creating a 21st century library, the Maplewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees has awarded a contract to Sage and Coombe Architects LLP to create a conceptual design for the Main Library at 51 Baker Street.

The Board of Trustees selected Sage and Coombe in an extremely competitive process that brought in applications from 39 top-notch firms in the New York region. Recent Sage and Coombe clients include the New York Public Library, the Noguchi Garden Museum and the Greater Newark Conservancy.
