Intro to the Harp: a Workshop for Kids & Teens

  • Maplewood Memorial Library HILTON BRANCH 1688 Springfield Avenue Maplewood, NJ, 07040 United States (map)

Kids and teens of all ages are invited to enjoy harp music played by teen harpist Evelyn Mitchell.  Kids will learn how the harp works and they can try it out for themselves!
A fun way to learn about an instrument!

Evelyn started playing a folk harp at nine years old and now plays a repertoire of songs using a lever harp.  She has conducted many harp workshops at libraries in Essex and Union counties. She also volunteers her musical talent at nursing homes.  Most notably, Evelyn performed with the NJ Youth Symphony in the Spring of 2023 as well as with Paul Shaffer in the spring of 2022.  World renowned harpist and teacher Robbin Gordon-Cartier continues to elevate Evelyn’s skills.
