Why We Fight: The Struggle for Health Justice

Maplewood Library has joined the University of Orange as sponsors of their Why We Fight initiative. The University of Orange is a free people’s urbanism school in Orange, NJ. They build collective capacity for friends, neighbors, and partners to cultivate just and equitable cities.

University of Orange Reading Group:
This two-phase Reading Group will start on Monday, June 15th. The title for the first four -week phase is From Enforcers to Guardians: A Public Health Primer on Ending Police Violence.  

Dr. Mindy Fullilove, UofO Co-founder, and Dr. Hannah Cooper wrote From Enforcers to Guardians to help people understand how police violence affects health and to understand possible paths forward. Johns Hopkins University Press has posted it on Project Muse as a free ebook, and a compiled PDF is available here.
